På kanten av mynningen lockar Château Monconseil-Gazin, en herrgård från 1600-talet inbäddat i en fantastisk grön miljö, en mängd olika besökare. Familjegården grundades 1894 och sträcker sig nu till totalt 35 hektar. Den drivs av Jean-Michel Baudet, 5:e generationens vinmakare, och hans fru Françoise, som är djupt engagerade i kvaliteten på sina viner, samt främjandet av vinturismen i appellationen «Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux».

About the people

Jean-Michel Baudet representerar den 5:e generationen av sin familj på fastigheten. Tidigt på 1990-talet försökte Jean-Michel utveckla sina odlingsmetoder genom att integrera miljö och hållbar utveckling. Idag arbetar han i kontinuitet, inspirerad av det kinesiska ordspråket: "Var inte rädd för att röra sig långsamt, var rädd för att stå still." JM Baudet är därför engagerad i den miljöansvariga TERRA VITIS-certifieringen som syftar till att implementera hållbar vinodling.
